Choosing Your Perfect Foundation Shade

Our Foundation Color Families

Each Adorned with Grace foundation belongs to a color family designed around real undertones that are often overlooked in traditional makeup. Once you identify your undertone family, you can choose the shade depth that best matches your skin tone.

Example families:
• Love – Yellow with slight peach

• Hope – Yellow / Olive

• Peace – Neutral Olive

• Faith – Golden Brown

• Kindness – Peach

• Grace – Peach, Olive & Golden

• Charity – Neutral Olive with strong Yellow and slight Peach

Step 1: Identify Your Undertone

Yellow / Golden Undertones

Yellow or golden tones in the skin often pair best with shades from the Love or Hope families.

Peach Undertones

Peach or warm orange tones may match the Kindness family or certain shades within Grace.

Olive Undertones

Green or muted tones in the skin suggest olive undertones and may match Peace, Grace, or Hope.

Neutral Undertones

Balanced golden-brown tones may match Faith or Peace.

Multiple Undertones

If you notice several undertones in your skin, begin with Grace or Charity, which are designed to balance complex undertones.

Step 2: Choose Your Shade Depth

Step 3: Test Your Best Match

Apply each sample vertically along your jawline. The shade that disappears into your skin is usually your best match.

Test your foundation in multiple lighting conditions, including natural daylight. Allow about 30-60 minutes for the minerals to settle, as mineral foundation naturally blends with your skin’s oils and may deepen slightly.

To help the foundation settle faster, lightly mist your makeup with water mixed with a drop of moisturizer or a non-comedogenic oil such as jojoba.

Application Tip

Adorned with Grace Mineral Foundation is highly pigmented, so only a small amount is needed. Apply using a fluffy brush such as a kabuki, flat-top, or powder brush.

Using too much product may feel heavy or emphasize texture. For a lighter or more radiant finish, blend with our Celestial Silkening Powder.
